The precast concrete barriers are manufactured using a very high grade of concrete. If the concrete barriers are required to take impact loads from vehicles, then a specialist structural engineer would produce a reinforcing schedule for the barriers which would consist of steel bars and wire mesh to add strength to the concrete barriers.
